Burst Pipes & Leak Repairs in Liverpool & Merseyside

A burst pipe or persistent leak can damage floors, ceilings and belongings quickly. If it is safe, turn off the water at the stop tap and move items away from the affected area. Do not touch wet electrical fittings or appliances; if water is near electrics, keep clear and seek appropriate help.

Emergency plumbing help

We can assess accessible domestic plumbing leaks, identify the likely source and explain the repair options. The work may involve replacing a damaged section, renewing a connection or arranging access to pipework concealed behind a surface. The appropriate repair depends on the pipe material, location and condition.

What to expect

Describe where the water is appearing, when it started and whether the supply has been isolated. At the visit, the affected pipework and surrounding area can be checked where accessible. If the source is hidden, further investigation or careful access may be needed; making good plaster, flooring or decoration may be separate from the plumbing repair.

You will be told what work is proposed and whether parts or additional access are required. The price and expected timing are confirmed before work starts. If the leak appears to come from a mains supply, shared building pipework, heating system or another specialist installation, the right next step may differ from a straightforward water-pipe repair.

When to call

Call for help if you cannot stop the leak, cannot locate the stop tap, or water continues to spread after the supply is isolated. For immediate danger, such as water contacting live electrical equipment, move away and contact emergency services or the relevant utility as appropriate. If you smell gas or suspect a gas leak, do not operate switches or use flames; leave the building and call the gas emergency service from a safe place. Gas faults require a Gas Safe registered engineer.

Common questions.

Should I turn off the water before calling?

If you can reach the stop tap safely, turn it off to limit further escape. Do not enter a flooded or electrically unsafe area; get appropriate assistance instead.

Can you repair a leak behind a wall or floor?

The source may need investigation and access before a repair is possible. The approach, access work and any reinstatement can be discussed after the location and condition are assessed.

Can you help with a gas pipe leak?

A suspected gas leak needs the gas emergency service, not an ordinary plumbing callback. For a suspected gas leak, leave the building, avoid switches and flames, and call the gas emergency service from a safe place. Arrange gas work through an appropriately registered engineer.
